This gown is based on a fashion print published in 1863.

It consists of a solid silk taffeta in a pleasing pink-mauve color richly trimmed with self pleated trim on the bodice, sleeves, and skirt.  The style of pleating is copied from patterns and instructions published in 1864.

The low bodice is buttoned in the center front, which was very fashonable ca 1864-68, with the 3/4 long and narrower coat sleeves of that era.

The gown is completed by a "Fichu Eugenie", made from cotton organdy with pleated edging.

The 100% silk taffeta used for this gown was found to have sizing spots, that cannot be removed by cleaning.  The pots are most noticeable during ironing doe to the heat being applied.  When the gown was worn for a fashion show (the only time it was worn) no one noticed the spots.

We have reduced the price of the gown to reflect this.
